Message from our Commander

Hello and welcome,

My name is Devin Kelly, and I have the honor of serving as the President and Eminent Commander of the Sigma Nu, Zeta Xi Chapter, here at the University of California, Davis. Thank you for spending the time to visit our chapter's website. Whether you are a parent, student, alumnus, or a curious individual about what Sigma Nu Zeta Xi has to offer, I hope this page provides a meaningful glimpse into the brotherhood, values, and standards we uphold.

Sigma Nu was founded in 1869 at the Virginia Military Institute as a fraternity established against hazing and in support of the enduring our core principles of Love, Honor, and Truth. At the Zeta Xi Chapter, we are proud to carry that legacy forward—not just in word, but in action. Among hundreds of chapters across the country, we are committed to setting the bar high and leading with purpose.

Our mission is to break the negative stereotypes often associated with college fraternities. This mission guides how we show up—in our community, on campus, and in each other's lives. We challenge one another to grow, to serve, and to strive for excellence both inside and outside the classroom. Brotherhood is not just our foundation—it’s our way of life. It’s seen in the bonds we form, the accountability we practice, and the pride with which we wear our letters.

We emphasize balance: academic success, meaningful involvement, and mutual accountability. That commitment is why we consistently maintain the highest GPA among UC Davis fraternities, why our brothers take on leadership roles across campus, and why we’ve been recognized as IFC Fraternity of the Year five consecutive times. Our chapter has additionally received the prestigious Rock Chapter Award seven consecutive times since we arrived at Davis, Sigma Nu’s highest national distinction. Not only does this award represent the accomplishments we have had in Davis, but it also demonstrates the role of a leader our chapter serves within the national scene as well.
